Trying New thing

posted in Archive |

i used to like adding different seasoning or sauces on top of what i eat, ie french fries + black pepper + salt+chilli (must). I just loved to add chilli sauce or small chillies into every meal I have. After staying in Melbourne for a year and half, I no longer do that anymore. I guess it is the changes in my eating habit, I no longer like to add seasonings into the soup or rice I eat. I used to love hot and spicy food so much, Malaysian food - Nasi Lemak used to be my most favourite food on earth but sadly to say she is replaced by boiled veges & eggs. I am not sure if that’s health consciousness that I need to have a balanced diet or I have learnt to enjoy my food and the satisfaction of munching with it. Also the junk food that I eat, I used to like Barbeque, Salt Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion potato chips and again I have changed them all to Original flavour only. I learnt to save its origins for my taste buds. I am sorry, taste buds if I have been abusing you. I promise I won’t do it to you again.is it because the time is near and i shall wave goodbye to this beautiful place. I just learnt to take chances and keep my ears opened. Eddie, my housemate has afflated me a number of things in my life now. I guess he wouldn’t realise what had he said is challenging me at the same time.He said this, ” Last time I don’t know how to use chopsticks. how come mine has a gap and grandpa’s one doesn’t have- then I observed how my granpa hold the chopsticks and learnt the chopstick skill…”

He incidentally prompted my identity as a Chinese. A must know basic for a Chinese is knowing how to hold chopsticks correctly. Let’s put those that cannot even spell or pronounce their Chinese given name at the back. I will now start picking the chopsticks instead of fork & spoon when eating noodles or having any Chinese food served. I hope I am not offending anyone here as my thought and belief are subjective to yours.

Secondly, talking about taking chances- Eddie has said that it doesn’t cost much to try new stuffs. He said I am not a person that likes taking risk. Oh well, obviously who likes it? He is implying the context of TRY NEW THING.My choices have always been like below :-

For examples:

McDonald - McChicken
—–> Chicken Foccacia

Cake House- Cheese cake —>Tiramisu, Mango Gataeu, Choc Mud

Juice - Orange Juice —–> Orange+Mango,Apple+Blackcurrent,Ginger,Carrot

Gelati Ice Cream - Lemon —> Roche,Baileys,Toblerone,Hazelnut,Nutella … it’s either you like it or you don’t. You won’t loose much if you don’t like it because you have tasted, you have tried it already. I think he is quite right in a sense even though I initially denied it. Why not? It doesn’t cost you much for a sample.I would like to try working under a new environment, going to places that I haven’t been to before. I count them as taking chances because I can’t see or know if the places are worth going. Now, the only places I have not been to in the entire Victoria region is Euchuca inner port and the snowy mountains.

Thanks mate for giving me such inspiring thoughts.
