my foolishness

I can’t believe these words are out from my mouth.

“How much do you expect for the salary?” asked the interviewer.
“2K…at least.” I said naively.
“Ok.” Mr. Lim nodded.

Why didn’t I say 2.5K in case they wanted to negotiate with me for the offer.
or
Much wiser if I say, “Well, how much do you think I’m qualified for?”

Dude, why am I so silly??? Is that the hypertension from the sleepless night that caused me stupidity to say such foolish and naive answer! geez….

Nevermind it, my God can turn every impossibility to possible!!!! Amen!

Sleepless Night

my elder sister hasn’t returned home until this morning 9am, she has her car parked but she is missing in action. That has actually worried me since I couldn’t get hold of her for the whole night, I called her mobile phone but she did not pick up the phone at all, that has even doubled my concern over her. yeah, you may say “well she is old enough to take care of herself wad.” but not when you know about the unpredictable phenomenon which can always put one, especially a lady at risk and it can result even to being snatched, robbed, raped or even to death. You get to know the everyday new in murdered, rape, bag snatching, car accident cases etc by flipping the daily. You see those news sadden me and I definitely want my parents to be safe.

I prayed in tongues for hours, I couldn’t get into sleep as my whole mind is just thinking of my sister and wondering why didn’t she pick up the phone. I meditated on the word of God as Jesus wanted us to cast all the burden onto Him and He shall sustain us; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved - Psalm 55:22.

I couldn’t sleep for the whole night…I guess I must recharge until I am full bar for rest before going for an interview in the afternoon.

Thank God she is back.

Ladder 49

Tuesday - it’s ladies day for movies. And the world has turned upside down, or rather it’s my world I should say. It has come to a stage that I am asking guy to watch movies n dine out with me. And this guy has to be - Kien. My movie partner :)

He threw me a joke when we were both chilling out in Kinokuniya bookshop at Suria KLCC.
What is the difference of Stress, Tension and Panic?

Stress: You get stress when your wife is pregnant
Tension: You get tension when your girl friend is pregnant.
Panic: You are panic when both your wife and girl friend are pregnant.

haha, we can’t stop giggling after. I couldn’t remember which book he picked on to distress himself. The jokes inside are fairly hilarious.

Excerpt from the book.
Q:What is the difference between Jesus and a picture of Jesus.
A: It only takes one nail to hang the picture!

He got a stare from me in return from the joke.

Okay, Ladder 49 is the movie we watched. Jack Morrison (Joaquin Phoenix), the firefighter is trapped in the blazing tall building. And the story plays in chronology of what he did in the past 10 years as a firefighter, the memories and thoughts of his past keep him company until rescue arrives. John Travolta acts as his captain, Captain Mike Kennedy played a leading role in the movie. I remember the line said by Cap. Mike, “we will not mourn for him but to celebrate his life!” I rate it 4.5 / 5 stars, another heroic movie that touched me.

We went to a Malay restaurant for dinner after movie. The restaurant is located at the corner of Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Ampang. Kien said the satays there taste better than Kajang’s one so I gave a try, hehe, yeah it isn’t too bad.

What’s on the advertisement?

I have been busy lately. Many might be wondering what I have been caught up with. Well, I am making best use of my free time by reading newspapers, that is to check out what job opportunities out there and study the press advertisement in its conservative trend. I wonder why do they always like to label “*” sign beside their so called attractive rate in big print. And of course for those that do not know this “*” sign, it means with terms and conditions apply. Ok, give you an example.

Print your Digital Photos here at QCC Photoshop, for only MYR 0.48 per pc*
or
Print your Digital Photos at QCC Photoshop for as low as MYR 0.48 per pc*

What? You people from overseas, you think you are only paying 0.48 for a single print just like how you can be enjoy paying at the retailers abroad uh? Welcome to Malaysia! First, you have to request for a certain amount of prints, i.e. 100 or more. Secondly, there is another mandatory development fees that you have to pay if you have fewer prints than 100. See see, consumers in Malaysia has to really learn to be smart in recognising the misleading advertisement which is widely publicised in this country. Or maybe presumedly, many of them are immune to it. *cough cough*

You wouldn’t know what is their t&c until you go to the particular shop and show your interest of purchase. Don’t they realise this marketing strategy is a way outdated as well as conservative. I wouldn’t want to attract my potential customers by labelling t&c which is meant to sell for MYR$1.00. Go sell it in that competitive rate, do a “win-win” strategy rather than getting your potential buyer eyeing on the products and keep them out from the door just because they can’t meet your t&c. Retailers, can’t you be a bit more generous if you are ready for the A&P budget set. Just throw the bait and get hooked for goodness sake!

Above mentioned is just one of the case studies.

Advice: Read carefully before making any decision, do not be gullible to the ads. Always Always, Never Forget to READ the FINE PRINTS!
