Second day of work.

posted in Archive |

Maybe you would say I am wasting company resources. Theoritically speaking I am paid to work but I have commited unethical act by blogging during office hours. Another one hour to head off. Hey, don’t missunderstand me as a clock-watcher.

Its my second day of work at the new company which does travel related services. I nearly fall asleep after reading its core product knowledge for 3 hours continuously. The chilly workplace (directly under air-con) has contributed much to my yawns. I guess I would need to bring scarf, cashmere and gloves to work next time. I thought I could stand the cold as long as it wont go less than 16celcius degree.

Just a day before I started my new job, I had a date with my close girl friend that we have known each other for 17 years… How many people have 17-year-old friendship? It was quite a pleasant experience to have Michelle as shopping companion. It is gratifying enough to see her buying non-stop. I intended to buy shoes and some accessories in some of the boutique at first, but she had the most shopping bags eventually.

I visited both her parents and her siblings since it’s been a few months I have not seen them. As usual, her mother cracked out some jokes which made me laugh all the way. She always likes to ask, “have you found a bf yet?”

“No wor…. how ar? See your son now also taken liao. I no chance liao loh. I also know u wanted me to be ur daughter in law, Michelle’s sister in law (Da Sao in Mandarin). haha”

My cheeky reply always delighted her in some ways.

Then, even more funny one. She asked me, “So not working in the bank anymore?”

“No loh…” I replied

“Then what u doing leh?” Auntie asked.

“Me ar…now working at a travel agency, doing corporate sales.”

“Ohhh…sales ar. Go out loh?”

“Yah, to service clients and find new business ma.” I replied

“Ooo…I know la. Working in the bank cannot go anywhere, always stuck in front of the computer. No chance. Thats why change job now, so you can go out and MEET PEOPLE, MEETING PEOPLE WILL INCREASE CHANCES OF KNOWING BF AND EVENTUALLY BECOME YOUR LAO GONG…”

I bursted out laughing non-stop. It’s always thrilled to interact with my girlfriend’s mom. kekeke

Wah…auntie! (eyes big big) You really smart leh…you can not only read my mind but read my heart also can. Good ah you! I like you ah…hahahaha”

Michelle’s sis and father also overheard the conversation, so everybody was grinning and laughing at us. By the way, I believe it can help you to have a better imagination if I tell you where was the conversation held. - Hock Guan Chinese medicine & mini market cum Acupuncture treatment clinic.
