I did not manage to blog last week due to some obvious reasons, like changing domain, moving the entire database and files across to the newly pointed server from my host - Exabytes. The new domain setting had to wait up to 72 hrs to get propagated. Of course, another reason was partly due to my eye infection.

The case turned worse on Friday when I went back to the eye specialist for 3rd consultation. I was quite upset with how I was treated, the doc had patched my right eye and told me I could not open my eye anymore until the following Wednesday. I wondered how could I drive home with my one eye covered although the distance from the hospital to home is near. Moreover my dominant eye is the infected one, there is no way I could rely on my left eye to drive home. So I called my dad to pick me up from the hospital. In the meantime while waiting for him, I TXTmsged a few of my close friends to get them to pray for me. I had become quite emotionally unstable after all the inputs from the doctor.
“No, you can’t open your eye.”
“You have to close your right eye until Wednesday.”
“If not recovered, I will admit you in.”
Sometimes in life, you just have to confront a certain problem; eye to eye.. and I meant it literally. See, my eye infection didn’t get any better after the first visit to a supposedly eye specialist. Instead, it went horribly wrong and that got me panicked! Was it the prescription, did I find the right doctor to diagnose my problem? Obviously not! So thankfully, I found myself a chauffeur on Friday afternoon and without wasting precious time, we rocketed our way to the Curve! After a 10-minute wait and lots of forms to fill, I heard someone calling out my name tunefully. (*Imagine Julie Andrews in the sound of music) And I was thinking… what am I? A sheepdog or something? Anyway, my irritation was flushed down my throat when I noticed the doctor. If you think that it’s easy to see with one eye, you’d better think again. But I guess the doctor (shall we call him Dr. Charm?) deserved more attention than just one right eye. He guided me to sit at the machinery and pop (yeap, that’s his exact word) my chin on the rightful spot so he could examine my sore eye. He’s rather agile, moving effortless about his little room, so much so that it’s difficult to lock him in one angle for more than 10 seconds. Moreover, everytime he speaks, it’s like he’s putting together a tune of lyrics. This guy should’ve been an entertainer. My chauffeur thought he might have taken a sip of alcohol during lunch. Y’see, my session was the first, right after that.
I saw my eye, yes, with some yellowish dots around 7o’clock of my right cornea and the red blood veins. Dr Charm showed me some other patients’ photos with similar conditions. He comforted me by saying there isn’t any ulcer or cut in my eye. Those yellowish dots are due to some immune rashes of the proteins which were caused by contact lenses.Apparently, the first doctor had given me very mild eye drops which could not help to kill the germs.
“For eye, we need to hit it hard with some strong anti-biotics and medicines. Very unlike to your tummy pain that need to use mild medicine to cure first”, said Dr. Charm.
So I was prescribed with Vigamox, Maxidex for every 4 hrs a day and artificial tears for 15 mins a day.

I left the eye-care centre with great relief. So did Tiff, she was confident with Dr. Charm’s ability to cure my eye. I put a night at Tiff’s place since it would be good and convenient for Tiff to send me for second consultation. Josh (her son) was happy that I stayed over. He told his mom that his prayer is answered - Vicky eventually can stay over at his house. Hey, so do I.
There wasn’t any obvious result the next day, but I felt the itch of my eye. I thought this must be a good sign for a start.
This time, Dr. Charm looked through my eye with his high tech machinery, said some eye lashes of my lower eye-lid are poking the cornea. Trust me, it is terrifying to have your eye lid lashes plucked! After the ‘mini-op’ was done, he flipped my upper eye-lid and snapped a few photos of my eye-lid. Ewww I can’t believe I saw some white spots on both the upper eye-lids, there are some viral infection which will lead to conjunctivitis if not been well taken care of. Dr. Charm described my eye-lids as red and juicy which tickled me grinning. I still remember Tiff was telling Dr not to give any wrong impression to me. I asked Dr. if I can have the photos although I knew he won’t give. But was up to my surprise he asked ‘Why do you want it? Put them up on your website ar?‘ Well, I did not get it, after all they are scary and ugly.
I was advised no more contact lens for at least a month or more, let’s see what Dr. Charm will say about my eye when I visit him this Saturday.
Lastly, I like to say thank you to my life group members who showed their love and care, as well as my good friends who prayed for me to get right treatment and speedy recovery. Thank you friends, God bless!
