Now everything has come to a closure now, Italia Azzurris the winner of World Cup 2006! They seal the championship in penalties with result of 5 - 3.

For those who have denied my statement earlier, I am sorry that the truth has been presented to you. Perhaps some people will think I have gone too extreme for being so daring to blog the winners even before the match starts. I wrote about Italy will win against Deutschland and then meeting Les Bleus in the final game which the Azzurris will also be the champion for World Cup 2006. I am truly thrilled for their victory! By the way, I am not a psychic in case you are wondering what do I do for living. Faith is the only element which has sustained me through.

This final match is, of course the most exciting game among all 64 matches. At the same time it is also the most saddening moment for me to see Zinedane Zidane commited such a foolish, disgraceful, nasty and brutal act to the opponent team, a headbutt in the chest of Materazzi. Did he know there are 24 official video cameras rooming around? Did he know every motion are captured if not seen by the referees? Shame on you, Zidane! You could have ended your wonderful career with beautiful scores instead! One can head the ball, not heading on someone else’s body! I keep telling myself ‘It’d be such a disgrace for France if they ever win the championship!!!!’ Seriously I was angry at Zidane of his stupidity, of his heat at the moment! As much as I don’t like France to win , yet, I wish Zidane to end his tournament with respects from the world!

Italia deserves everything to win! Now I hope the Golden Ball will be awarded to Gianluigi Buffon! Let’s see tomorrow’s announcement.

Added on 11 July at 00.12 (GMT +8) : I have still not recovered from the shocking headbutting scenes I saw last night. I took a day off just to rest but I thought I wanted to watch the match again. Perhaps this would allow me to think rationally. I am still having a mixure of feelings, the win and lose. Truly we could understand Zidane must have been provoked by Materazzi in resulting him to headbutt his chest. The world don’t know what had been transpired between Zizou and Materazzi, sadly the world can only remember the image they saw while Zizou headbutting his opponent. My father and I were stunned when we both saw that, I suppose everyone was. He should hold his anger even if Materazzi had really twisted his nipple or have said things like “You’re terrorist” / “You did not score better than me” etc provoking words. I know it is easier said than done. There are always dirty characters in the fields and it is so difficult to hold on to your temper especially in a tough game like this. No matter what has been said, you cannot agree with what he did. I am sorry Zidane.

And NO, Gianluigi Buffon did not win the Golden Ball award. He was awarded with Lev Yashin, best goal keeper of the competition. I don’t think anyone would want to argue against him getting the award. Ironically, Zinedine Zidane got the highest vote for winning Golden Ball award but with his inglorious act also. Come second with Fabio Cannavaro whom deserves everything to win the title and Pirlo from Italy as well got the third place. It is definitely a controversial award for Zidane, but I will let FIFA and media to deal with all the ordeal. The story is still developing.
If not Buffon’s fingertip save, I guess Zidane had already become another legendary soccerer. You know I felt very sorry for Zidane, it’s an ‘Eternal Regrets’ like the French newspaper L’Equipe said. I cannot stop thinking about how would this image be cueing over and over again by the video editors in the days to come. Zidane will be reminded for the whole life for letting down the French.

For Blue Azzurris, congratulations! You’re just behind Brazil of their 5th win!
