Congrats, Michelle!

My best friend, Michelle Tan called just a few days ago to deliver some good news. I don’t usually receive good news especially with the industry I am in. People will only complain but they won’t compliment if you have done a good job. They probably think that’s our obligations to do everything for them (at no cost) and of course to put smileys on their face. Well just be prepared if you are thinking of joining a volitile servicing industry, all you need for is patience, patience and patience :-@. Okay, let me continue before I drag too far.

Michelle, being my good friend for nearly two decades has finally made it through her Bachelor of Medical Sciences Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (corrected @ 23 Aug) and going to be a housement officer in one or two months time. Time flies when I looked back the days we grew up together. She has always been confident of her achievement in school since her academic results are often in merit, if not 1st then 2nd or 3rd. Her confidence somehow got struck when she entered IMU. You know there are vital differences between Chinese educated and English educated students. The latter ones are always outspoken and are open to debate whenever necessary. Chinese educated students in contrast are always timid, it is just not them to raise hands and speak up their minds. So my friend had some problems earlier communicating with lecturers. It’s not of being weak in her studies, it’s merely the outspoken ones had outshine her.

But I am so glad and happy for her that she made it through with ther strong willpower. Dear, your journey however does not end just yet. A life long learning journey has just begun!

I wish you all the best as you venture into another, yet exciting moments of your life! Remember, I am always here for you whenever you need me.

Stressed?

Has anyone thought about the word STRESSED? Yes, you and I hear this word every day every where.

icecream

But has this come across your mind that STRESSED can become DESSERTS when you read them from backwards? It is all depends on which angle you look at stuff sometimes. Remember, things are not as bad as you may think.

Tried bitter gourd? It isn’t really bitter after all.  Just imagine…you’re eating this very inviting cheese cake!

Pearl and her story

I don’t know why I keep thinking about “natural pearl” today. Not that I like pearl but I was reminded of its formation before it becomes pearl. A natural pearl is an organic gem which is formed with the irritants such as tiny stone or sands that get inside the mollusks such as oysters and mussels without human interference. Then nacre, some lustrous substance are secreted around the object to protect the soft internal surface of the mollusk. As layer upon layer of nacre coats the irritant; the longer the irritant stays inside and the more oyster coats. Tthe whole process can take up to a decade before a beautiful pearl is revealed.

beautiful pearl

We often face many stumbling blocks along the road, frustrations and irritations in lives might get on our nerves. Challenges after challenges never seem to cease. As I thought about “Pearl” today, I was reveled by her characteristic of being patient and to persevere with all the irritants in life. She continues to move on with her life despite little irritations she faces each day. All these characters take her to the destiny.

You and I can also become like a pearl if only we can see beyond the circumstances.

Walking into bottleneck

It is unfair for those stumbled by my blog and see no recent updated entries. I am terribly sorry for not able to post something intellectual at the moment. I am gaining my sleeps in order to get up earlier for work. My productivity is very much utilised in the office, so I reserve no more energy to stay up in front of the computer for blogging.

Maybe I am just not good enough to manage my time well. Laters!

How to read air ticket

My apologies for dragging too long to blog about Travel Smartly Part 2. I am still doing some research on the ticket conditions. I will not present you Part 2 until I am certain about the facts and figures.
There are going to be changes on IATA air ticket now as Malaysian Airlines is soon implementing CSP (Consumer Selling Price) on all ticket they sell. That means the amount reflects on the air ticket will be much lesser compared to your ticket receipt. I think you’ll definitely need another illustration before we go further.

Pricing

As you can see from the picture above, RM1788 is the published fare + RM45 airport tax + RM152 YQ (fuel surcharge) = RM1988

I am sure you’re raising questions now like:

1. What is published fare?

2. Why it seems more expensive than what you have paid?

3. How CSP will change consumers’ perception in buying air ticket from the travel agents / or airline directly?

I did ask myself this question, Why am I writing all these? Well, why not if I do not breach any code of conducts or business ethics. I hope you, the readers will ultimately get benefited out of it.
