1st Blogger Bring Blogger (BBB) held on 18 November 06

(KUALA LUMPUR, 19 November) A bunch of famous Malaysian bloggers were jamming up Chili’s Mid Valley yesterday for Blogger Bring Blogger (BBB) dinner meet.

Bloggers who turned up yesterday were known as Endroo G, Gallivanter, Larawannabe & Hubby, Lex, Meekiee, TihTahPah and Mira, the youngest blogger in Malaysia. Mira, aged only 2 + according to Larawannabe

BBB meet turned out well despite all new faces for the first time.

 4 of us

The first four peeps

Meekiee, one of the bloggers who initiated this gathering. Gallivanter was executing behind the whole plan, he came out with a catchy name called Blogger Bring Blogger. It was believed that more bloggers were supposed to participate in BBB. Lah LanguageSingaporeanChe ChehEating ChaosBengsterMr-I-Like-Singapore-Wah-Wah-WahChing Ling and Jemima could not make it for personal reasons. Fly Kite a.k.a Fong Fei Gei bloggers were Kukujiao.com and Keropok.

Asked how the rest felt towards this BBB.

“Cool, more of this for sure in the near future!”

“Thank goodness we didn’t call off BBB although was only a few numbers who showed up. It was a great fun meeting with a bunch of new faces, yet they are not strange at all!”

“You read their blogs, you know what’s going on with their lives. It’s like you have known them for long, just catching up with some old pals.”

Most of the bloggers were known to each other during World Cup 2006. There’s an undeniably fact that they are great fans of soccer games and loyal supporters of Arsenal, if not, Manchester United EPL club.

Plenty hardcore bloggers carried on with spiritual drink for second round. They were not home till an hour before the sun rises.

The World Sees Us as Bodoh (Stupid), No?

I’m too outdated to have received this email, if not this email I nearly forgot we are seen as Bodoh (Stupid) in the eyes of the world. Opps, according to While Malaysia Fiddles, Its opportunities Are Running Dry, the country we live in still hardly to be recognized on the map. Where’s Malaysia?

My blood is boiling now, when only can we catch up with other well-developed countries? It’s not by telling the whole nation that they are going to spend taxpayer millions of dollars to train the astronauts to land on the moon? Halo, even the simplest transportation is not well-planned and executed throughout the whole Klang Valley! Instead ridiculously planning to fly aboard the space when the basic transport link is not founded. Yah yah, someone please tell me. Do you think having only 2 lines of light rail transit is enough? Having a sky train flying in between the outskirt of KL city is good enough? Excuse me, don’t even dare to think the KL Monorail Station is connected to other commuting trains in KL CENTRAL Station. It smacks hard right on my head, are they proud when reading the news of the STAR LRT dangling over the track? There is no contingency plan for Putra LRT commuters when shit happens, anyone recall the flood in underground tunnel? Aiyoh!

We as KL, Selangor drivers don’t really want to drive alone and jam pack the whole city during the peak hours. Ask us what choice we have. Ladies, you buy extra time to travel on public transport. You pray to God that today your bag won’t get snatched, no rapist or molester has eyed on you. Gentleman, no escape for you. You better pray for your own safety, your gadgets, your laptops and of course your precious life! So tell me, still want to risk our lives to rely on public transport when the existing problems are not resolved?

I am sick and tired hearing of The Biggest Roti Canai made, The Longest Teh Tarik etc. You know, that’s called “Kiasu” but our brother near us seems to know better - “Kiasu” for the right reasons. So Malaysia “Boleh” (Can)? And yeah, they might be right - Malaysia “Bodoh”.

It’s saddening.

It’s pathetic!

Pardon me please!

Causeway Bay, Central and The Peak Walk

Nobody will deny Hong Kong is a sophisticated and diversified city full with neon lights, high rise apartments and skyscrapers. You will meet with the city of contrasts as you step into Hong Kong Kowloon district and Hong Kong Island. Both sides, oh yes, you have to know Hongkie likes to use ‘side’ to describe almost everywhere they go. Be it Kowloon side, Repulse Bay side, Seaside and etc, it’s quite normal to hear it in Hong Kong. You will see a vast difference in cultures, heritage buildings between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon District if you observe good enough.
Aberdeen Wa Fu

I am fortunate enough to pull two nights stay at my friend’s place in Aberdeen, Hong Kong Island. I bought my friend’s mother a bottle of Black Label and some local delights for courteous custom. Usually Hongkies will rather treat you meals than allowing you to stay over.

Moi In Narcism

Being a poor student in the past didn’t allow me to take part in most of the proms and balls during my college and uni days. Well, not ashamed to say, 11 Nov 06 was the first time of my life dressing up. And it was for company annual dinner. I suppose I was still in line with the theme “Glittering Night” despite of my not-so-glamour appearance lah.

Then, I received an anonymous SMS.

“Hi Vicky. Your hairdo looks very nice. And also spaghetti strap black dress and glittering accessories.”

The message came in shock and I didn’t know who was that. I thought it could be one of my colleagues who sent it.

And then, there I replied “ha ha, thank you. Who is this by the way…?”

The anonymous replied and identified himself. I got even more shock as I called him and discovered he happened to be in overseas playing golf. Oh my goodness, mean i have been stalked or ??? I kept telling myself, “No No, Vicky…Don’t worry you’re not Paris Hilton nor Mariah Carey. Nobody likes your multi temperature pillow unless that fella really likes Bakuteh.”

Ok, long awaited photos… Don’t criticize too much, afterall it’s only my first time. Read the rest of this entry »
