Splendid Trip
After the stranger met stranger gathering, this bunch of gutsy bloggers had a spontaneous thought to make a trip down to the south - Port Dickson & Melacca for 3D2N stay. I had the pleasure of being the organizer for this trip. Surely I set myself with high expectations in turning everything positive, making sure everything is well-taken care of. It could be me being perfectionist, to make sure our BBQ turned out well and everybody was having fun. I won’t hide, there was certain amount of stress to organize something for whole bunch of people you barely know them well.
We had Gallivanter generously accommodated us in his parent’s apartment - Gloria Beach Resort. The driver of the trip had kept us all safe throughout the whole journey. The drive to PD was pleasant at first, not until we approached Seremban. I couldn’t understand why did we pay the freeway toll for suffering in a stupid men-made jam. Is that truly Malaysia boleh that they could think of fixing a road during heaviest traffic time of the day. Anyway, it was all good after we exit at Lukut.
All together we had 7 of us joining the trip - Cely, Endroo, Gallivanter, Hong Kiat, Lex, TihTahPah and myself. Aren’t we gutsy people? Truly it may sound crazy to go for overnight trip with people you just met. Ha, but this is we - the new age guys who celebrate life!
We couldn’t pass the legacy of JD + GT on our first meet, so there it goes…TihTahPah has learned to appreciate it. Hoolala! Everyone was warmed up after a few shots of JD, that’s when the fun began. Don’t know about the rest, but UNO & Old Maid evoked my nostalgia. Heck, never touched the game for past 10 years. Talking about entertainment, we got Lex to lead everybody girls to camwhoring mode. I wouldn’t be surprised with the amout of our self-camwhoring picture counts. Go Lex, we love your camera. ![]()
Weather was perfect for our BBQ session, but reckon it could be better with candles lining up at night. Poor fellas no need to waste flashlights on their mobiles phones. Point taken and it shall be better if I get to organise another BBQ sesson at the beach. I heard the food was satisfying, no?
Though there were a few chicken wings we couldn’t juggle well, all burnt by the flame. Other than that, the sausages rocks!
Guys, you must believe we are bunch of ’spiritual’ & mentally fit fellas. No other games can beat Pictionary, yeah, the old folks game but it certainly leaves you something to laugh about for the rest of your life! Heads up to everybody’s creativity. ![]()
Nobody had any hangover the next day so we carried on our plan to visit Melacca. We met up with Jasonmumbles, another blogger. Heard he earns around 200USD a week. Phew! We had him touring us around. Gosh, it must be difficult for him to walk us through Jonker Street under the hot sun. We were introduced to this cake-house around Mahkota. The cake was heavenly made…and the Matcha drink was simply soul winning! Ever try Japanese greentea with milk? LOL
I don’t know about others, but it was a worthwhile trip for me to Melacca. It was a memorable experience to walk down the street in Portugese Settlement where you can immediately feel the merry of Christmas. As the whole street were lightened up and carolers were merrily singing songs, I bet that was the best experience I had in Malaysia so far. A promise I made, White Christmas will be on its way!
Our journey back to Port Dickson was accompanied with thunderstorms. The vision was blur, we could barely see what’s ahead even with the wipers violently working on the windscreen. Daniel made a safe and steady driver. I think driving safely on the road with this condition can be worse than operating a flight. You pass man!
I know it is quite cliche to say this, all of us gain a better understanding of each other in certain extend. i.e. Endroo, a caring person who fills his North Face with pink toiletry bag (got butterfly print somemore) and his gadgets in a moon cake box. Wanna beat him on that? He was constantly being our guardian, watched us out from cars. And this guy has a heart for kids…I have never seen guys buying souvenirs for kids, Endroo you beat me again!
Lex, the youngest one of all. She often calls herself bookish but I think not. She has somehow reminded me of my past, being expressive and etc. It was good having you around ![]()
TihTahPah, ha ha this girl got passed on with the legacy of JD + GT. I was pretty amazed by her stories and I certainly enjoyed her great company. I like the cockpit you draw, there goes my intelligence! Thank you. ![]()
Hong Kiat & Cely, you rock man! I must have you all to play pictionary with me in the days to come!
Last but not least. Gallivanter, he’s a motivator filled with high spirits. ”Life’s short” is his tagline. Through him, I learned splendid of new insights in taking life approach. Cheers!
I certainly do look forward to our next outing. Passing my organizer baton, who’s next? ![]()
