A Prayer For Comfort

For my dear friends who suffer in depression, my prayer is with you.

Jesus Christ Dear Father in Heaven, who is the God of all comfort, pour your peace and strength into many hearts. Let not the storms of life overtake them. Though they are beaten down and utterly discouraged, their souls are fainted within. Their sorrows are greater than what they can bear. They are too weak for the burden laid upon them. I pray to you dear God, send them the comfort of your help.

Please dear God, bring peace to their souls. Comfort them as whom a parent comforts, and hold them in your arms of mercy.

Thank you dear Lord.

Anyway!

There is this poster I hang at my work desk to constantly remind me to DO GOOD ANYWAY despite of all negative circumstances!

Not sure if you have read it, but it does comfort me from time to time and give me the strength to move on! The first step is always difficult, I mean how to love someone who has been nasty and cruel to you? They give you this urge to slap them left and right! Anyway, anyway…just do good anyway! If you sew sow kindness, you will reap kindness. You sow time, you reap time. You sow love, you reap love. Likewise, you sow hatred, you’re most likely reaping hatred. You reap what you sow my dear! Enjoy reading this piece and hope that encourages you!

The Paradoxical Commandments

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Mind Your Attitudes

What are the attitudes that attribute to success? Let’s spend a few moments to think what is the most rational and practical approach to handle your work, your relationship with others. How do you deal with your personal issues? What is your motto for life? What is the force behind that motivates you to strive?

1. Your life is like a window, you can’t stop people spraying graffiti on your window. But you have a choice to let it stay remain or not.

2. You can’t stop the ocean roars and thunder storms, so learn to sail through it.

3. We make mistakes in life. It’s entirely your choice to let it be your stumbling blocks or stepping stones to success.

Tell me about it. I’m open to listen to your opinion!

New Toy For Passion Making

My first digital camera Nikon 4100 coolpix is half way to the graveyard now. Thanks to fireworks show last Sunday, it underwent an hour of heavy pour. I hope it will come back in perfect condition without spending much to repair. I still want to keep it for nostalgia sake.

Nevertheless, my new toy comes along the way upon a visit to my photographer friend.

LX2 and LX1 It was a spontaneous shot for that moment.

I am not getting DSLR just yet even though I was introduced to the older Nikon model, D50 & D70 and latter entry level D40. Argh, and I was told about Canon Powershot S3 IS which is neck to neck comparing with some other semi pro compact camera in the similar price range. Anyway, I am not going into DSLR just yet after taking some professional advice.
See comparison between D40, S3 & LX2.

Sweet O Butterflies

Walking Past

The Soaring of Butterflies

Walking, wrapped within my own world
Often looking where I shouldn’t
Hence, blind to where I should

Occasionally stopping to bend
Inhaling sweet fragrances
Mind soothing, each content moment

Brought to unavoidable changes in the road
Surprise is not a proper defense
But quick enough to jump in

All too soon, there’s a shattering
The resulting turmoil unbearable
While vast amounts of time creep slowly

Finally, finally from within
Still wrapped in a cocoon of raucous muck
That which has great potential, shimmers

Though not completely formed, it does exist
Fleeting images of higher truisms
Glimpses of what rises above the down below

Knowing one day that the soaring of butterflies
Already thrilling, is so much sweeter
When holding the memory of just crawling

Even as I now falter, strength grows
Confusion just beginning to depart
Truly, for me, nothing will ever be the same.
