LASIK Test

‘Hey I am gonna wake up in clear vision, from blur to clear (that’s their tagline)!’

This is what I felt all the time before taking a preop LASIK test at Vista Laser Eye Centre.

I went through a 3 hours thorough check before the result can confirm if I can undergo LASIK treatment. Firstly I was put to a room which is equipped with a Bausch & Lomb machine. I went through a myopia vision test and later I was guided to another room to check my pupil size. My prescription is:
Right eye: - 6.5 sphere, 0 cylinder

Left eye: - 2 sphere, -1.5 cylinder

My pupil size measurement is at above average 8mm diameter before it is dilated. Gosh imagine how much light my eyes can take in at night!? I did not know I am quite an abnormal one with huge pupil, ratio 1:10? Average size is 5-6mm. Read the rest of this entry »

New Invention for Malaysian Cars

I wish all future cars can either be equipped with loud speakers so I can shout on those culprits who go against the law or I have these RED cards flashing above my car roof expressing myself and at the same time communicate with the road buggers!!!!

Budi Bahasa

I have long wanted to take a picture of those INCONSIDERATE BUGGERS stuck in the middle of yellow box, blocking the opposite traffic. They thought they can be terror enough to pass through a smooth traffic after a whole lot of jam. I would say almost every motorist who use JALAN SULTAN ISMAIL are inconsiderate. They are so kiasu until they stuck in the middle of the road disrupting others to drive across. Read the rest of this entry »

Travel Smartly - Part 1

Many of us here have probably taken flights for their business or leisure trips before. But are you a smart air traveller?

You probably have also heard of Malaysia Airline, our national carrier have shrinked in size. Thus it is no surprise for them to try every possibility to get extra revenue. So what do they do to fight the deficit?

Things you need to know for Pre-trip arrangement 71030110.jpg

1. It is a common practice for almost every leisure traveller to get a few quotations before paying for the fare. Prior to this, make sure you have checked with your travel agent on the availability and not just the fare + airport tax + fuel surcharge + agency collection fees (ACF).

2. If you are travelling to USA/ EUR, ask your travel agents for more alternatives. Sometimes having too many transits will result you in paying more airport tax. Quiz: Which country has the highest airport tax? It’s not US, not London, but Australia. The airfare may seem cheap by flying on Singapore Airline (SQ), but with the total amount you pay up for your trip can be more than flying on other carriers. Check out Virgin Atlantic or Austrian Airline as they usually do transit in KL, so you might get cheaper fare to fly to Sydney!

3. Always ask if you can fully utilize stopover. Some airlines will provide hotel accomodation in a very attractive rate. Ie. Flying on Thai Airways will allow you to stop over at Bangkok for a shopping tour before flying to Shanghai.

Car crashed into Proton Showroom, Jalan Pahang

As I was still watching live match of Liverpool v.s Westham just now, I heard a very loud crash outside my house. It occurred to me that was just probably some truck with a full load of sands collided on the road. And the location must be the blindspot outside Maybank, Jalan Pahang.

I did not intend to ‘keypoh’ until I saw two helicopters flying around with the spotlights on at my residential area. They were both quite close to the ground, probably 300-500m away. My instinct told me it must be something dead serious happening in front of the shop row. I was curious whether the helicopter was searching for run-away criminals or they were used to watch how serious the traffic occurred because of all the keypohchees (busybody). I looked out from the back of my house and I saw a long stretch of traffic just in front of Galleria shopping mall, the abandoned mall. But on the other side of the road seemed empty, more motorbikes were parked on the roadside if compare to normal days.

I decided to find out what’s happening out there. I took my fully charged digi camera with me since I thought it would be very handy in case the news agency doesn’t have a coverage on it. Sorry, no news is good news. I really don’t feel like blogging about this whole incident. However the photos will surely remind us to drive carefully if we can’t see far ahead.

As I was approaching the crowd, my heart beat faster. I didn’t want to see blood scenes or any uncensored scenes which will cause me having nightmare. Then I saw this.

It's not Jackie Chan's stunt movie aiyoo, this is not Jackie Chan’s stunt movie!

People looking around Does this make sense to you?

Big mess Smashed tables, chairs and glasses everywhere.

 Senget Tiang Senget Lamp-post

Tengok apa? Pigi pigi... Police busy controlling traffic, “lu tengok apa? Cepat pigi!” to the busybody drivers.

Yes, I couldn’t imagine poor Proton Showroom Jalan Pahang had the same fate of repeating a crash into the business unit. At one time I thought it is another Jackie’s Chan movie. The accident happened around 11.45pm on 13 May 2006. I wtinessed neither the driver nor passengers inside the car. I did see some blood stain on the pedestrian path, it was too intense to take those photos.

Do you think the cause of it was blind-spot area? Or do you think the driver was too fast and furious? Or a combination of both?

Please, I urge you not to drive real fast on the way from Jalan Genting Klang especially when approaching the pedestrian bridge, where you can see REAL LONG AND BIG MAXIS advertisement. There is where the blind spot. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STOP YOUR CAR ON THE ROAD SIDE TO WITHDRAW MONEY FROM THE DAMN BANK!!! Especially at NIGHT! Most drivers drive really fast down from the slope and endangering others’ lives while trying to cut from fast lane to enter the street heading to Titiwangsa. Now i guess the hero drove into the Proton show room could be of the reason. Or he/she was trying to avoid the cars parked outside Maybank. I have got a picture here to give you a better understanding.

Setapak Roadmap from Jln Genting Klang to Jalan Pahang   Not so professional drawing, Ok enough for you to understand.

A community service from me, PLEASE, I URGE YOU ALL DRIVERS AGAIN TO SLOW DOWN YOUR CAR SPEED WHENEVER YOU DRIVE THROUGH JALAN GENTING KLANG TO JALANG PAHANG.
